The aim of the course is to introduce the components and structure of an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). It will provide participants with a working knowledge of the environmental impact assessment process and the information, including environmental studies needed to prepare an environmental impact assessment document or statements.

The course is designed for managers and environmental practitioners of all kinds, with varying previous experiences in the subject and with differing objectives in attending. It should specifically be of interest to senior and middle managers and environmental engineers, with responsibility for managing the organization’s environmental risks and impacts.

Detailed Course Description

This course will enable delegates develop a working knowledge of common EIA techniques, and it will identify the necessary environmental controls that can help mitigate their organization’s environmental impact. The course program also provides guidance on all current international and national legislation relating to EIA that can assist the organization comply with its legal responsibilities. The participants will learn the basic steps and phases of the EIA process including: screening, scoping baseline data collection, environmental impacts predictions, mitigation and monitoring measures.
